Registration opens on Monday, Sept. 15 (tomorrow) for the Scouts Fall LDS Merit Badge Clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for Scouts to earn Eagle-required merit badges in a concentrated classroom setting. Not limited to the 13 Eagle-required badges, over 50 total merit badges are offered on Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8. NOTE: - Mr. Mark Haakenson will collect your class selections and submit them as a Troop on Sept. 30. - There is no cost to attend this event, although some classes have special fees for materials. In place of charging a program fee, they are asking to bring a donation of non-perishable food or make a donation to a local food bank. - Classes take place in multiple locations throughout the Triangle. Life Scouts: Quest Academy (on Strickland at Creedmoor Road) has reached out the Impeesa District to gauge interest in two possible Eagle projects to help the Charter School. One is to build two outside benches on their playground, and the other is to build some cubbies in a couple of their classrooms. Please think about positions of responsibility you would like to fulfill during this coming term. On Tuesday, we will elect our next Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and also the Patrol Leader for each Patrol. In addition to those elected positions, you can signal to our new SPL if you're interested in one of the appointed positions: Assistant Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Bugler, Chaplain's Aide, Den Chief, Historian, Leave No Trace Instructor, Librarian, O/A Representative, Quartermaster (Scout), Scribe, Troop Guide, Troop Instructor, Webmaster.
We have 17 Scouts and 4 adults signed up for our first campout of this term. It's at Falls Lake at BW Wells Campgrounds 6 and 7. Please bring your signed permission slip and check to this Tuesday's meeting to hand them to Mr. Moody.
