Advance planning is needed to ensure a good camping experience. Your RSVP is needed ASAP for both the September Campout at BW Wells Campground/Falls Lake and the Occoneechee Council Camporee. ** We need a headount by Sept. 2 (Tuesday) for the September Campout to Falls Lake on Sept. 12 - 14. Use the signup feature on the website's calendar event to add your name. Activities at this campout will focus on foundational skills and the Cooking merit badge (now Eagle required). Find the permission slip filed in Campout Files on the website, and cost/Scout is $28.00. ** Your RSVP is needed ASAP so we can register our Troop for the Occoneechee Council Camporee on October 10-12 (Troop signups began Aug 14). Use the signup feature on the website's calendar eventto add your name. This event is huge, with all sorts of activities, including a "Challenge Trail" for team building that looks like it involves getting very muddy. Take a look on the Camporee website. The permission slip will be posted soon, and cost/Scout is $35.00.

One of the options to earn Service Hours is to work on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail during one of the "workdays." Upcoming Fall workdays have been scheduled: * September 27, 2014 - National Public Lands Day * October 25, 2014 - Campsite and Trail Workday with a Cookout! Uploading pictures to our website has just gotten easier. The website platform provided by SOAR has updated the Photo Upload tool to combine multiple technologies (HTML5, Flash, Silverlight and HTML4), and is no longer based on Java. The website Photo Upload tool also works on smartphones. Check with John Balla with any questions about uploading photos.
