The July 15 Troop meeting will be specifically for Scouts to finish any partial merit badges earned at camp, as well as any other badges that remain outstanding. Our Scoutmaster and ASMs will be at PGUMC from 7:00 until 8:30pm on Tuesday, July 15 just for this purpose. ** Parents with applicable skills and experience are needed to come help out. (See "Partial Merit Badges by Badge" file) ** Don't lose this chance to finish up your badges - bring your Individual Progress Report.
Troop 364 Scouts currently have 149 total partial merit badges – about 4 per Scout. About half of those badges (76) are Eagle-required, so we’re showing a good focus on Eagle completion. Our Scouts are taking advantage of badge-earning opportunities at our “milestone” camps (2014 Summer Camp, Merit Badge University or Winter Camp) since 60% (46) of those badges were started at those times. ** Let’s support our Scouts' advancement by coming to the Merit Badge Completion Workshop this Tuesday. ** Use the Online Blue Card Form for recording merit badge completion. Submit completed forms to current Advancement Chair Mr. Sommers, who is transitioning that role to Mrs. Brannock.
With 149 outstanding partial merit badges, and half of them being Eagle-required, let's divide-and-conquer on helping our uniformed Scout leaders guide completion of the Eagle-required badges, and then address all other badges on an ad-hoc basis. For many of these badges, your college degree, work experience, experience with Scouting or simply being a parent qualifies you.
