Swim checks will be conducted at Optimist Pool on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 to 8:00pm.
This is taking place in lieu of our normal Tuesday night meeting, so go directly to Optimist Pool that evening.
NOTE: Swim checks are mandatory for Summer Camp and required once/year for all Scouting activities - this is the best chance to do it quickly and easily. There may be scheduling issues and those will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, but please make all efforts to participate in this swim check event.
Swimming skills will be certified by Mr. Embrey (a BSA certified lifeguard) and Lilly Balla (a Red Cross certified lifeguard).
This is an annual event that Troop 364 participates in to support American Legion Post 1 to honor American Veterans for Memorial Day. It takes place at 3:00 - 5:00pm on Friday, May 23 at Raleigh Veterans' National Cemetery (directions below). The Scouts will be supplied American flags to place at the head of each stone in the cemetery, and may be doing so alongside other volunteers from other organizations. Scouts can earn service hours with this activity and are encouraged to wear Class B uniforms and come prepared with sunscreen and a drink if needed. Meet at the cemetary:
Warmest wishes to the moms of Troop 364 this Mothers' Day!
Helpful Hint for Scouts: Nothing says "Happy Mothers' Day quite like a Car Wash Certificate from Autobell ! They're equally nice as a surprise after Mothers' Day. Get them from any of our fellow Scouts going to Northern Tier this year: Alex Balla, Michael Brannock, Justin Irene, Donald Irvin, Jaelen McLeod, Bradley Turner, Jake Pruitt and Mark Sommers.
Please pay Ms. Ebony McLeod $5 per camp card you've sold, or return any unsold cards by the May 13 Scout meeting.
Camp Cards are available through May 13 (and are valid through December 31). This sale is another great way for Scouts to earn money to help fund scouting activities. They're just $5 each and include great discounts, including $5 off a $50 purchase at Harris Teeter (making them free if you buy groceries). Contact Ms. Ebony McLeod for details at m.ebony@yahoo.com.
