We'll take a day trip to the Shinleaf campgrounds at Fall Lake. We'll be scouting out the campgrounds which will be the site of our District Camporee we're hosting the first weekend of April. Registration deadline is February 16
Thanks to Jacob M for coming out to the Pinewood Derby this morning and helping to judge cars and work the finish line on the track. He and Ethan both provided three hours of service and enjoyed snacks and pizza as well as the camaraderie of scouting.
Thank you to each and every one of you that helped make our 2015 Christmas Season a success. We would not be able to accomplish all that we do without the help of our incredible volunteers. We are so appreciative to all the volunteers that help us with the Angel Tree Program as well as all the individuals that donate to make it possible.
This year we had 3,601 families come through our Christmas Warehouse. Each family was able to pick out toys for their children, and get new clothes and stockings donated through our Angel Tree Program. We had 8,081 children in our Christmas Cheer Program this year and thanks to the help from all of you every single one of them received brand new clothing and close to 17,000 toys were given out just to the children in our Christmas Cheer Program; with many more handed out to the families in our Shelter, Project Catch, Soup Line, and Project Fight.
We need a parent to review our Troop’s record of receipts and expenditures as part of our commitment to Good Governance. The person reviewing the books would ideally be someone willing to transition into the Treasurer role and the end of Lauren’s tenure this June.
We need a parent volunteer to act as our Troop Coordinator for the Friends of Scouting campaign for this important initiative that benefits the Occoneechee Council. Here is how this initiative is described:
