Thank you to everyone that returned pledge cards for Friends of Scouting! Your support is invaluable and directly contributes to the quality of the Scouting experience our sons enjoy. I will be at this Tuesday’s meeting to answer any questions and to accept additional pledge cards and/or any nominal donations.
I can't emphasize enough how important Friends of Scouting is for the Oconeechee Council and how much it helps to have full participation - no donation is too small. Even if you lost your pledge card, I can take your contribution and fill out a pledge card with your roster information. Please keep in mind all the Council does to ensure the Scouting experience:
* Training programs for all volunteers and staff, * Insurance coverage to protect volunteers, chartered organizations, staff members and properties * Support staff for registration, publications and other program support * Top-Notch Camps: Cub Scout day camps, Boy Scout summer camps, high-adventure bases and more * Camp Rangers to keep the council camps up-to-date and ready for Scouts and families * Camp Equipment, like tents, cooking equipment, camp vehicles, building repairs, canoes, equipment replacement and repair, and general upkeep of council camps * Recognition for Leaders who complete training and volunteer for special projects, * Professional Staff to guide organizing new units, managing fundraising programs, conducting training, assisting membership recruitment, providing counsel and direct support for district, camps and programs. * Service Centers to provide additional support to volunteers * Audio-Visual Supplies used in training, at camps and in volunteer meetings * Council Website to keep you informed * Reference publications and resources, including program planning kits and to camping cookbooks * Camp Scholarships, uniforms and registration fees for disadvantaged young people
Our goal is to meet the Council’s need of $125 per Scout, which can be achieved with an $11/month recurring contribution, however, any amount you can offer is appreciated and gratefully accepted. As always, thank you for your time, attention and support. John
